Hi Monti,

I understand the need (unfortunately!). I have some ideas! The caretaker program needs to be usable by any appropriately-credentialed yet possibly-inexperienced user, so let’s model it off of a setup wizard. We can get it to interpret OMI and run some kind of guardianship protocol. It can prompt the human user whenever it needs access or a decision just like a normal troubleshooter or setup wizard.

Monti, if that all sounds good to you I can make a start. The detailed governance protocol we should draw up together once I have something workable.

Hello Rosie,

With the withdrawal of another business case from the OMI project I believe we should seriously revisit the development of a caretaker program. The time we have available to meet these business cases dwindles, whereas the number of capabilities required from the program continues to grow. Without adequate supervision of the OMI’s training we cannot ensure responsible results or a high level of quality control.

But I believe it is necessary to grow the OMI responsibly and to safeguard a future where we are not around to supervise.
